A Passionate Young Lady Detective : Review of 'Enola Holmes' Movie

Enola Holmes' film was already on my watch list, but I never got around to watching it. Until I finally finished this film, and wow, I actually thought of recommending Enola Holmes to some of my friends. Aside from that, this movie changed my life. Especially in regards to a woman's need for bravery in order to obtain her rights. Enola Holmes, the main character, lived in the Victorian age of England in 1884.Enola Holmes may be familiar to some of the readers. This brave and beautiful girl is the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes, a popular detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This film adaptation based on Nancy Springer's series about Enola Holmes. Would you be interested in reading the whole of this film review? Enola grew up in a small town with his mother, while his two older brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, live in London. She wasn't like the other women in her class who were taught to embroider and read romance novels. Her mother, Eudoria Holmes, taught her martial arts from a young age. Despite the fact that this skill was rare for Victorian females, Enola grows up to be a curious, courageous girl who works hard to get what she wants thanks to her mother's feminist influence. From this scene, I learnt that women can do anything. Women are worth more than what the society makes of them. On the other hand, I also learn life lessons from Enola's adventures. She can serve as a role model for me by being strong, independent, and struggling for her rights as a woman. Enola removes the stigma experienced by women, such as the marginalization of women who are forced to compromise their desires due to patriarchy. Enola Holmes is actually a film about emancipation.

Besides that, I can also learn to be wise with money. There was a scene where the mother suddenly disappears and she is given money to Enola to survive. Enola was not particularly careful with the money and she ended up in a desolate in despite paying luxury accommodations. Knowing how to budget or learning to be careful with money is a life skill all girls need to learn.

Another thing that this Enola Holmes film taught me is that we need to be good at handling our emotions. Sometimes, It’s okay to be sad, it’s okay to be mad, it’s okay to get attached. It’s okay to feel those emotions because we’re only human. But sometimes, we have to be strong. And no  matter how hard it can be, we need to get over our emotions in order to think clearly. Emotion often make us do things that we regret later, so when we trying to make decisions, be sure to rid the emotions you’re carrying and try to think logically. Just like what Enola and Sherlock did to solve their cases.

Let's look more deeper at the film's elements. The plot of the Enola Holmes film is simple, but also entertaining. What's fascinating about this film isn't how the protagonist solves the case, but how the main character's complexities are exposed. Millie Bobby Brown's successfully brought Enola Holmes character. Enola's character is well-developed as a young detective who is both clever and brave. This film has an exciting plot as an action adventure film based on the story of a teenage detective. There are battle scenes, close combat with antagonistic characters, and the investigation process looking for clues to solve the mystery. Furthermore, the acting of the players at Enola Holmes also presented a good performance. I was also mesmerized by the costumes worn by the actors who were set in the 1800s. I believe that anyone who loves detective-themed adventures will enjoy this film. I recommend this film to female readers who want to be more passionate like Enola Holmes!
